The first part establishes a rhythm
Place a Producer in an empty socket and the machine starts earning. At first, another Producer is an easy decision to understand. More parts, more output, less time before the next purchase.
That rhythm is useful. It also forms a habit. Eventually, a vacant socket begins to have a value that another Producer cannot fully account for.
A position is a provisional choice
Your first placement does not fix the architecture. Cores can move, and the layout preview lets you examine an arrangement before applying it.
Keep an eye on the positions that several parts could share an interest in. They may become important before you have a name for their purpose.
Support changes the reading
Amplifiers and Relays introduce influence beyond a single core. A group that looked like separate sources of income starts to read as a neighborhood, a line, an intersection.
Return to the earlier placements when a new role appears. The parts may be familiar; their relationship has changed.
The opening is not a blueprint
A working arrangement earns you the means to disturb it. Research, upgrades, and later cycles introduce conditions that the first grid could not anticipate.
Use the opening to learn how the machine responds. You can postpone deciding what its final shape ought to be.
Watch the empty spaces. They reveal what your current arrangement has not yet made room for.
